Olivia spotted this Great Horned Owl in the oak tree in the east pasture. The camouflage helped it blend it so well it took me a long time to find it. It sat silently in the same position until there was a rustle on the ground. It targeted immediately on the source of the noise.

Trio of Native Plants
Some of the native plants are in full bloom now - the prairie onions, butterfly weed, and monarda. A variety of bees are visiting each of them. My favorite bee is the bumblebee with its loud buzzing.
