Groundhog

The groundhog made its appearance today in the east pasture. This is not an animal we commonly see, so it was exciting to see it.

Corgi

Jim's corgi dog, Bear, is a great companion. He's had Bear since August 2020.  

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

 I love seeing the Eastern Tiger Swallowtails enjoying the flowers in the backyard!

Tiny Leaves

 The leaves are emerging as spring moves towards summer.

Chipmunk

 This chipmunk was enjoying the warmth of the sun.

Tiny Pinecones

 There are tiny pinecones on many of the trees. These pinecones have an almost magenta-color to them.

Dog

 Scooby enjoys being outdoors in the warm weather.

Colorful Goldfinch

 The male goldfinches are decked out in their vibrant yellow feathers.

Empty Field

 The fields are still bare here. Soon, farmers will be out in their tractors planting their crops. 

A Miniature Horse's Spring Shedding

 Hoss, the miniature horse, sheds his brown winter coat for a white spring coat.

 A catkin is caught on barbed-wire fencing in Scandia.

Leaf Shadow

I created this image at William O'Brien State Park ten years ago, on May 16, 2008. Walking through a forested area on the trail near the St. Croix River, the shadow of this branch and leaves were on a large rock. When I look at images that I've made through photography, they bring me right back to the very moment when I took the photo. I like that.
